He is currently a master’s student working at the Power Electronics and Control Researsh Group (GEPOC). His research interests include Power Electronics, Control Systems and Electric Machine Drives.

 

Renan Rodrigo Duarte, Eng.

He earned his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria in 2015. He is currently a master’s student working with the Electronic Ballast Research Group (GEDRE). His research interests include lighting systems, electronic ballasts, gallium-nitride semiconductors (GaN HEMTs) and light-emitting diodes (LEDs).

João Manoel Lenz, MSc. Eng.

Has received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Maria in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He is currently working towards his Doctorate degree at Power Electronics and Control Research Group (GEPOC), with an interest in optimization techniques and reliability for power electronics design. He also has experience in renewable energy modeling and photovoltaic systems.

She received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2015 and nowadays she is a master student in UFSM. She has been a researcher with the Electronic Ballast Research Group (GEDRE) since 2010. Her main areas of interest are: DC/DC converter, light-emitting-diodes (LEDs), integrated converters and switched capacitors.

Prof. José Renes Pinheiro, Dr. Eng.

He was born in Santa Maria, Brazil, in 1958. He received the B.S. degree from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Santa Maria, Brazil, in 1981 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil, in 1984 and 1994, respectively, all in electrical engineering. Since 1985, he has been a Professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria, where, in 1987, he founded the Power Electronics and Control Research Group (GEPOC). From 2001 to 2002, he joined the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, where he performed his postdoctoral and researches on distributed power system. He has authored more than 100 technical papers published in the proceedings of national and international conferences. His current research interests include high-frequency power conversion, power supplies, power-factor-correction techniques, and modeling and control of converters
