The II Hair Donation Campaign, promoted by IEEE WIE UFSM and by Salone beauty salon, took place at the Technology Center of Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) on March 18th, 2019. The event’s aim was to help the Centro de Apoio à Criança com Câncer (CACC), an institute destined to give assistance to children with cancer located in Santa Maria, with hair donations to make wigs destined to children and women in treatment. Thus, any person of the local community was invited to participate in the act, in exchange for the hair donation the participant earned a free new haircut. Each participant should donate at least 15cm of hair or could bring hair strands ready to donate. The event lasted 4 hours during the afternoon, in which, beyond three hairdressers and WIE UFSM members, more than 30 volunteers attended. In the end, 30 haircuts were done and more than 70 hair strands were collected.
