This project is part of the master&#8217;s thesis by Jo\u00e3o Souza, at the Graduate Program in Agricultural Engineering (PPGEA) and the final paper by Cintia Piovesan in the Agronomy program\u00a0at the Rural Sciences Center (CCR). Both are participants in the FieldCrops Team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_729\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-729\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-729 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/app\/uploads\/sites\/906\/2024\/06\/Foto-1-2-300x188.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/app\/uploads\/sites\/906\/2024\/06\/Foto-1-2-300x188.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/app\/uploads\/sites\/906\/2024\/06\/Foto-1-2-1024x643.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/app\/uploads\/sites\/906\/2024\/06\/Foto-1-2-768x482.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/app\/uploads\/sites\/906\/2024\/06\/Foto-1-2.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-729\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">UFSM Team conducted technical visits<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>On June 4 and 5, directors of the agriculture sector, farmers, and experts engaged in this project discussed the preliminary results in the technical room of the <em>Asoportuguesa<\/em> project. This association, along with <em>Fundarroz<\/em>, <em>Polo Agropecuario<\/em>, <em>Fondesoya<\/em>, and <em>Flar<\/em>, leads the development of this initiative.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The results, although not yet final, indicate a potential yield in Venezuela\u00a0of 5.8 tons per hectare for soy and 9.8 tons per hectare for\u00a0rice, based on the country\u2019s environmental conditions, according to Zanon. \u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Based on the project\u2019s results, a realistic\u00a0goal would be to achieve yields of 4 tons per hectare for soy and 8 tons per hectare for rice. This target\u00a0represents approximately 80% of the potential yield, as striving for\u00a0100% would involve higher risks and costs. \u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Data from over 400 crops and more than 40 producers in the states of Portuguesa, Gu\u00e1rico, and Cojedes were analyzed, covering a total surface area equivalent to 7,139 hectares.
