Same Same, but Different \u00e9 um projeto de colabora\u00e7\u00e3o transdisciplinar entre o Laborat\u00f3rio de Arte e Ci\u00eancia da Universidade de Tecnologia de Durban (\u00c1frica do Sul) e o Laborat\u00f3rio Interativo Interdisciplinar (LabInter) da Universidade de Santa Maria (Brasil). Este projeto re\u00fane pessoas de Artes Visuais, Engenharia, Ci\u00eancia da Computa\u00e7\u00e3o e V\u00eddeo para criar uma arte eletr\u00f4nica interativa. Nosso primeiro momento de trabalho foi em novembro de 2017 no evento Digifest 2017.<\/p>

Posteriormente, continuamos a desenvolver nosso projeto por meio de encontros a dist\u00e2ncia. O tema \u00e9 explorado atrav\u00e9s da produ\u00e7\u00e3o colaborativa de uma instala\u00e7\u00e3o de arte eletr\u00f4nica participativa que usa a \u00e1gua como uma met\u00e1fora para o acesso \u00e0 largura de banda da Internet e a informa\u00e7\u00e3o como uma representa\u00e7\u00e3o vis\u00edvel dos dados prim\u00e1rios e secund\u00e1rios.\u00a0

Nosso projeto de instala\u00e7\u00e3o de arte eletr\u00f4nica interativa busca ativar o espa\u00e7o do por\u00e3o rec\u00e9m-renovado da Biblioteca do Campus da Cidade da Universidade de Tecnologia de Durban. Este espa\u00e7o escolhido simbolicamente se liga ao nosso projeto porque as bibliotecas s\u00e3o tradicionalmente vistas como uma fonte de informa\u00e7\u00e3o livre e aberta que todos podem acessar. A ativa\u00e7\u00e3o do espa\u00e7o de subsolo da biblioteca \u00e9 significativa porque aponta para a no\u00e7\u00e3o de biblioteca como um po\u00e7o do qual todos podem extrair a \u00e1gua do conhecimento e da informa\u00e7\u00e3o para se tornar um participante informado na democracia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

O projeto tamb\u00e9m procura comentar sobre a disponibilidade de largura de banda e acesso \u00e0 informa\u00e7\u00e3o por parte dos estudantes e como as circunst\u00e2ncias\u00a0 socioecon\u00f4micas podem afetar esse acesso. Instalamos o trabalho em duas salas, a primeira sala contem uma instala\u00e7\u00e3o interativa onde os efeitos de \u00e1gua LED s\u00e3o projetados nas paredes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Same Same, but Different is a transdisciplinary collaboration project between the Durban University of Technology (South Africa) and the Interdisciplinary Interactive Laboratory (LabInter) of the University of Santa Maria (Brazil). This project involved the collaborative effort of staff and students from Visual Arts, Engineering, Computer Science, and Video to create an interactive electronic art installation. It was facilitated by academic staff members Prof. Andr\u00e9ia Oliveira (LabInter) and Tasneem Seedat (DUT).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The project aimed at developing transdisciplinary practice and international collaboration among post-graduate students at DUT.\u00a0<\/span>Same Same, but Different was shown in ISEA 2018 and explored the theme of tensions between Hybridity and Purity. The theme is elaborated through the production of a participatory electronic art device that uses water as a metaphor for access to Internet bandwith-and-information through visible representation of primary and secondary data.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
