O Sistema de Cadastro Ambiental Rural (SiCAR) promete ser um mecanismo para o monitoramento do uso do solo no pa\u00eds, consequentemente controlando o desmatamento. Pela Lei 12.651\/2012, que institui o Novo C\u00f3digo Florestal, a partir da implanta\u00e7\u00e3o do cadastro, ser\u00e1 iniciado o processo de regulariza\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental dos 5,2 milh\u00f5es de im\u00f3veis rurais. Dele depender\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m, no futuro, o acesso ao cr\u00e9dito rural.
