O vento norte \u00e9 uma bagun\u00e7a.\u201d Essa \u00e9 a defini\u00e7\u00e3o do vento norte para Rafaela Shoutestazw, graduanda do curso de Direito na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). At\u00e9 pouco tempo, esse fen\u00f4meno\u00a0 meteorol\u00f3gico era conhecimento emp\u00edrico e n\u00e3o havia dados cient\u00edficos capazes de caracteriz\u00e1-lo.<\/span><\/p><p><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-74a9afff-7fff-1a0e-ef82-69d16883a814\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.7999999999999998;text-align: justify;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #202124;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">O vento norte marca presen\u00e7a em Santa Maria: veloz, quente e seco. Carrega folhas, bagun\u00e7a o cabelo, fecha e abre portas e janelas. Foi assim que surgiu o trabalho \u201cObserva\u00e7\u00f5es Meteorol\u00f3gicas do Fen\u00f4meno Vento Norte na Regi\u00e3o Central do Rio Grande do Sul\u201d (em ingl\u00eas, no original: \u201c<\/span><a style=\"text-decoration: none\" href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s10652-022-09855-4\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #1155cc;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: italic;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: underline;vertical-align: baseline\">Regional\u2010scale meteorological characteristics of the Vento Norte phenomenon observed in Southern Brazil\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #202124;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: italic;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">)<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #202124;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">. A pesquisa foi organizada pelo docente do\u00a0 Departamento de F\u00edsica da UFSM, Gerv\u00e1sio Degrazia, juntamente com Michel Stefanello, doutor em F\u00edsica pela UFSM e professor substituto no Departamento de F\u00edsica, e por Cinara Ewerling da Rosa, doutora em Meteorologia pela UFSM e professora do Instituto Federal Farroupilha (IFF-S\u00e3o Vicente do Sul). O trabalho analisou os movimentos turbulentos provocados pelo vento norte, que afetam desde os habitantes das cidades at\u00e9 a produ\u00e7\u00e3o agr\u00edcola. Al\u00e9m disso, segundo a professora Cinara, havia a necessidade de definir o que seria o vento norte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-bcda1dc9-7fff-e63e-8c94-bc9fd545a915\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.7999999999999998;text-align: justify;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #202124;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">Inicialmente, o fen\u00f4meno transporta a massa de ar da regi\u00e3o central do Brasil, onde as temperaturas s\u00e3o mais elevadas. Ao chegar no sul, o ar quente se encontra com o ar frio, o que causa a mudan\u00e7a de temperatura e provoca a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de calor. Os professores<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #202124;background-color: transparent;vertical-align: baseline\"> Ernani <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #000000;background-color: transparent;vertical-align: baseline\">e Gerv\u00e1sio explicam que a nomenclatura \u00e9 atribu\u00edda por causa da sua dire\u00e7\u00e3o. Ele explica que a pesquisa auxilia na obten\u00e7\u00e3o de dados para realizar as equa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o fen\u00f4meno, j\u00e1 que elas teriam o papel de descrever as consequ\u00eancias.<\/span><\/p><p><b id=\"docs-internal-guid-6df580e9-7fff-ec58-2e77-e861712903c0\" style=\"font-weight: normal\">\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.7999999999999998;text-align: justify;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #000000;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">Para coletar dados de turbul\u00eancia do vento norte, em 2008 Gerv\u00e1sio recorreu \u00e0 Torre Micrometeorol\u00f3gica de Para\u00edso do Sul, munic\u00edpio da regi\u00e3o central ga\u00facha. Com isso, foi poss\u00edvel estudar a estrutura e os aspectos turbulentos da ventania e realizar uma modelagem de dispers\u00e3o (simula\u00e7\u00e3o) dos efeitos do fen\u00f4meno.<\/span><\/p><p><b style=\"font-weight: normal\">\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.7999999999999998;text-align: justify;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #000000;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">Ap\u00f3s essa an\u00e1lise, os professores Michel e Cinara come\u00e7aram a investigar o fen\u00f4meno em Santa Maria a partir da Torre Meteorol\u00f3gica da UFSM. A partir desses\u00a0 dados, Cinara redigiu <\/span><a style=\"text-decoration: none\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1590\/0102-77863630141\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #1155cc;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: underline;vertical-align: baseline\">uma tese <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial;color: #000000;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">sobre como o vento norte se comporta na cidade. O estudo da pesquisadora teve dura\u00e7\u00e3o de nove anos e incluiu diversas cidades do Rio Grande do Sul &#8211; desde Alegrete, passando por Cruz Alta e indo at\u00e9 Rio Pardo, para tentar identificar e comparar caracter\u00edsticas do vento norte desses locais em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Santa Maria. A pesquisadora concluiu que, devido \u00e0 posi\u00e7\u00e3o geogr\u00e1fica, a intensidade do vento \u00e9 maior na regi\u00e3o central do estado: as rajadas podem chegar a 200% da velocidade dos outros lugares. Na pesquisa,\u00a0 foram analisados, de forma conjunta, dados de temperatura, dire\u00e7\u00e3o do vento, umidade relativa, campo de press\u00e3o e velocidade.
