O uso do ingl\u00eas em sala de aula \u00e9 uma maneira de proporcionar a internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o em casa para os estudantes da UFSM e prepar\u00e1-los para desenvolver suas atividades acad\u00eamicas e profissionais em uma sociedade amplamente globalizada.\u00a0 A Com a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o do EMI pode ser um meio de proporcionar experi\u00eancias de internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o a um n\u00famero maior de estudantes e docentes e de impulsionar a aprendizagem de l\u00ednguas no contexto da UFSM, ao mesmo tempo que pode servir, um n\u00famero expressivo de estudantes ter\u00e1 viv\u00eancias acad\u00eamicas atreladas \u00e0 internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o sem realizar uma mobilidade internacional. Al\u00e9m disso, esse recurso tamb\u00e9m serve como atrativo para alunos internacionais, que n\u00e3o falam portugu\u00eas, virem estudar na UFSM.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ofertar disciplinas em ingl\u00eas na UFSM pode contribuir tamb\u00e9m contribui para preparar os estudantes e docentes a participarem com maior facilidade de redes de pesquisa internacionais e outras oportunidades acad\u00eamicas internacionais. Dessa forma, o uso de EMI na UFSM pode impactar positivamente o desafio da internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o da UFSM. Esse suporte poder\u00e1 abranger aspectos lingu\u00edsticos (como pron\u00fancia e escrita), metodol\u00f3gicos, al\u00e9m de atender a outras demandas espec\u00edficas do contexto de cada docente. O grupo tamb\u00e9m funciona como um f\u00f3rum para o compartilhamento de experi\u00eancias, anseios, descobertas e \u00eaxitos relacionados ao uso do ingl\u00eas em sala de aula.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ao longo do ano, esperamos construir coletivamente com os participantes uma proposta de pol\u00edtica institucional para o uso do ingl\u00eas e de outras l\u00ednguas adicionais como meio de instru\u00e7\u00e3o ou educa\u00e7\u00e3o \u2014 pr\u00e1tica internacionalmente conhecida como <\/span><b>EMI\/OLMI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (English as a Medium of Instruction \/ Other Languages as a Medium of Instruction) ou <\/span><b>EME\/OLME<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (English\/Other Languages as a Medium of
