De acordo com Rodrigo Mariano, estudante de Direito da UFSM e lideran\u00e7a estudantil ind\u00edgena, a conquista do espa\u00e7o \u00e9 resultado de mais de 10 anos de reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es e articula\u00e7\u00f5es entre povos origin\u00e1rios, universidades e poder p\u00fablico: \u201cEsta casa n\u00e3o \u00e9 um favor, \u00e9 uma conquista dos ind\u00edgenas, com v\u00e1rias etapas, desde a concep\u00e7\u00e3o das pol\u00edticas, at\u00e9 a ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o da Reitoria em 2014\u201d, afirmou. A casa oferece 96 vagas de moradia, exclusiva para estudantes ind\u00edgenas, e capacidade para abrigar 96 estudantes. Finalizada no<br \/>in\u00edcio de 2018, Casa do Estudante Ind\u00edgena j\u00e1 est\u00e1 sendo ocupada por 66 acad\u00eamicos desde mar\u00e7o, oriundos de sete povos origin\u00e1rios: Guarani Mbya, Kayowa, Kaingang, Terena, Xakriab\u00e1 eTupinikim.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50
