Com 687,54 pontos, a equipe ficou entre os melhores colocados entre as 16 equipes participantes da etapa regional, que integra o circuito brasileiro da SAE (Sociedade de Engenheiros da Mobilidade). A competi\u00e7\u00e3o desafia estudantes universit\u00e1rios a projetar, construir e validar prot\u00f3tipos off-road em provas est\u00e1ticas (relat\u00f3rios t\u00e9cnicos e apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o de projeto) e din\u00e2micas (acelera\u00e7\u00e3o, velocidade final, tra\u00e7\u00e3o, suspens\u00e3o, manobrabilidade e resist\u00eancia), simulando condi\u00e7\u00f5es reais de engenharia, gest\u00e3o e desempenho em pista.<\/span><\/p><p><span constroem e validam um prot\u00f3tipo off-road capaz de enfrentar provas de alto desempenho e resist\u00eancia. No Brasil, al\u00e9m da etapa nacional realizada em S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Campos (SP), h\u00e1 competi\u00e7\u00f5es regionais no Sul, Sudeste e Nordeste. O time vencedor da etapa nacional garante vaga para a etapa internacional, o \u201cmundial\u201d, nos Estados Unidos.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38;text-indent: 36pt;text-align: justify;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial,sans-serif;color: #000000;background-color: transparent;font-weight: 400;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;vertical-align: baseline\">A Bombaja UFSM representa a universidade nas competi\u00e7\u00f5es h\u00e1 mais de 20 anos, reunindo estudantes de diversos cursos da UFSM e do CTISM, que buscam aplicar na pr\u00e1tica os conhecimentos adquiridos em sala de aula. Para o capit\u00e3o da equipe, Rodrigo Pereira, o envolvimento com o Baja nasce da \u201cpaix\u00e3o pelo automobilismo\u201d e do desejo de transformar a teoria aprendida em sala de aula em experi\u00eancia real de engenharia. J\u00e1 Ayscha Bartzen, gerente de Suspens\u00e3o e Dire\u00e7\u00e3o, destaca que a equipe se tornou um espa\u00e7o onde encontrou \u201cuma outra forma de colocar em pr\u00e1tica o que aprende na aeroespacial\u201d, al\u00e9m do desafio e da responsabilidade de desenvolver um carro que transporta pilotos em situa\u00e7\u00f5es
