que representa a qualidade do ensino superior, resulta de uma m\u00e9dia ponderada de avalia\u00e7\u00f5es nacionais, para os cursos de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o (conceito CPC) e de p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o (Conceito CAPES). Sintetiza, em um \u00fanico conceito, que varia de 1 a 5, o conceito 5 indica a excel\u00eancia de uma institui\u00e7\u00e3o de ensino superior. A UFSM tem como meta para 2022, estar entre as universidades brasileiras que possuem o conceito 5. Para atingir esse conceito, \u00e9 preciso obter um IGC cont\u00ednuo de 3,945. Desde 2018, o IGC faz parte da estrat\u00e9gia da UFSM, e o resultado da universidade se mant\u00eam em evolu\u00e7\u00e3o.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 16px;font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );text-align: var(--bs-body-text-align)\">No ano de 2019, a UFSM obteve a pontua\u00e7\u00e3o de 3,907, estando na faixa 4 do IGC. Em 2021 obteve 3,928, ainda na faixa 4.
