Independente do estado de sa\u00fade, a falta de massa muscular tem afetado a qualidade e expectativa de vida dessas pessoas.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Al\u00e9m de definir o corpo, a massa muscular \u00e9 essencial para manter a sa\u00fade, ajudando na for\u00e7a e contribuindo para a regula\u00e7\u00e3o do metabolismo e da glicemia (concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de a\u00e7\u00facar no sangue). O sistema imunol\u00f3gico \u00e9 respons\u00e1vel pelo reconhecimento do que \u00e9 pr\u00f3prio e n\u00e3o pr\u00f3prio do organismo, defende o corpo de <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">invasores, como bact\u00e9rias, v\u00edrus e fungos<\/span>. Dessa forma, sua fun\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 reparar danos e preservar a capacidade do organismo de manter equil\u00edbrio interno (homeostase).<span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\"> Quando nos exercitamos, ao contrair o m\u00fasculo, aumentamos o fluxo sangu\u00edneo e a circula\u00e7\u00e3o de c\u00e9lulas imunol\u00f3gicas, melhorando a detec\u00e7\u00e3o e elimina\u00e7\u00e3o de pat\u00f3genos. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">A pr\u00e1tica de exerc\u00edcios f\u00edsicos \u00e9 uma das principais formas de manter e aumentar a massa muscular. Em contrapartida, a perda de massa muscular apresenta um maior risco de desenvolvimento de doen\u00e7as cr\u00f4nicas, incluindo <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">DM<\/span> e doen\u00e7as cardiovasculares. Os treinos de for\u00e7a e muscula\u00e7\u00e3o aumentam a massa muscular, modulando a resposta imune com uma a\u00e7\u00e3o anti-inflamat\u00f3ria saud\u00e1vel e reduzindo a inflama\u00e7\u00e3o cr\u00f4nica, que por vezes, est\u00e1 associada \u00e0s doen\u00e7as cardiovasculares. <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">Com isso, o cora\u00e7\u00e3o trabalha menos para bombear o sangue, o que reduz o risco de doen\u00e7as<\/span> e melhora a sensibilidade \u00e0 insulina, que por consequ\u00eancia, regula a glicemia no caso de <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">DM<\/span>. Al\u00e9m disso, a atividade f\u00edsica <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">fornece benef\u00edcios para a sa\u00fade \u00f3ssea. Quando os m\u00fasculos s\u00e3o estimulados, aumenta a for\u00e7a e a densidade \u00f3ssea, reduzindo o risco de fraturas e osteoporose. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Um estudo desenvolvido pela Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (USP) mostrou que mulheres com mais de 65 anos com pouca massa muscular podem ter at\u00e9 63 vezes mais risco de morrer do que \u00e0quelas que tem massa\u00a0 muscular. A an\u00e1lise come\u00e7ou com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de pessoas saud\u00e1veis, semelhante em caracter\u00edsticas de idade e classe social, nas quais foram feitos exames de sangue e de composi\u00e7\u00e3o corporal por densitometria (avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da quantidade de gordura, osso e massa magra, incluindo m\u00fasculo e \u00e1gua). Cinco anos depois, foram refeitos os exames com as mesmas pessoas. A an\u00e1lise dos resultados mostrou que a baixa massa muscular foi identificada como fator significativo de mortalidade. Dessa forma, pouca massa muscular, \u00e9 um indicativo que o indiv\u00edduo est\u00e1 mais fr\u00e1gil. Isso mostra que a preven\u00e7\u00e3o da perda de massa muscular \u00e9 essencial, pois al\u00e9m desta atuar como uma reserva fisiol\u00f3gica, o envelhecimento por si s\u00f3, j\u00e1 implica perda de massa.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">Al\u00e9m disso, os efeitos da massa muscular s\u00e3o ben\u00e9ficos em pacientes com c\u00e2ncer. Nesta condi\u00e7\u00e3o, os m\u00fasculos podem fortalecer a resposta imunol\u00f3gica do organismo, auxiliando na redu\u00e7\u00e3o dos efeitos colaterais e no combate \u00e0s c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas, pois durante a atividade f\u00edsica, ocorrem altera\u00e7\u00f5es nos n\u00edveis de citocinas (atuam como um mensageiro qu\u00edmico para a regula\u00e7\u00e3o do sistema imunol\u00f3gico), que podem ser pr\u00f3-inflamat\u00f3rias (gerar uma resposta inflamat\u00f3ria) ou anti-inflamat\u00f3rias (diminuir uma inflama\u00e7\u00e3o), minimizando a toxicidade dos tratamentos convencionais e aumentando a circula\u00e7\u00e3o de c\u00e9lulas imunes, auxiliando no combate de agentes patog\u00eanicos, incluindo as c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas. <\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #0d0d0d;background-image: initial;background-position: initial;background-size: initial;background-attachment: initial\">Portanto, as evid\u00eancias indicam que quanto maior a quantidade de massa muscular, menores s\u00e3o as chances de desenvolver doen\u00e7as cr\u00f4nicas. Assim, \u00e9 importante que a popula\u00e7\u00e3o se conscientize sobre a import\u00e2ncia do ganho de massa muscular como sendo uma forma de aumentar a imunidade e a qualidade de vida, uma vez que a perda de massa muscular \u00e9 uma consequ\u00eancia natural do envelhecimento e come\u00e7a a partir dos 30 anos.
