Submissions must be exclusive.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Research articles, review papers, and short communications must be submitted electronically and preferably written in English. Manuscripts submitted in Portuguese may be translated after the first round of review so that they can still be evaluated by ad hoc reviewers and the Associate Editor in a subsequent round. Only the first letter of the article title should be capitalized, except for proper nouns. Avoid abbreviations and scientific names in the title. Scientific names should only be used when strictly necessary and should instead appear in the keywords, abstract, and other sections when appropriate.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lines must not be numbered, and pages must not include page numbers. The manuscript must be formatted on A4 paper (210 \u00d7 297 mm), with a maximum of 25 lines per page, double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides, using Times New Roman font, size 12.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Page limits<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The maximum number of pages is as follows:<\/p><ol><li>15 pages for research papers;<\/li><li>20 pages for review papers;<\/li><li>8 pages for short communications, including tables, figures, and references.<\/li><\/ol><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Figures and tables must be placed at the end of the text, each on a separate page, and must not exceed the margins or be presented in landscape format. Graphs should be treated as figures, and charts as tables.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Considering the electronic publication format, manuscripts exceeding the limits above may be considered. However, accepted manuscripts with excess pages will incur additional publication charges (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/siterevista\/cienciarural\/taxas\">fees<\/a>).<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Manuscript Submission Format<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manuscripts must be submitted in \u201c.doc\u201d format.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Digital Assets<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Drawings, graphs, and photographs:<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drawings, graphs, and photographs are referred to as figures and must be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. The journal does not use the term \u201cplates.\u201d Figures must be provided individually, one per page. Drawings, figures, and graphs (with a maximum width of 16 cm) must be created using graphic editing software, at maximum quality, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, in .tiff format.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tables must include the word \u201cTable\u201d followed by the corresponding number in Arabic numerals and must not exceed one page, maintaining consistent font and size.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Citations and References<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">References and citations must follow the ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards) guidelines.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Citations<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Citations must be indicated in the text using the author\u2013year system.
