O Professor Manoel de Ara\u00fajo Sousa J\u00fanior, do Departamento de Engenharia Rural (CCR – UFSM), participou como assessor da ONU (United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response) durante a Semana Internacional de Geom\u00e1tica ocorrida de 12 e 14 de agosto na cidade de Bogot\u00e1, Col\u00f4mbia. <\/span><\/p>\n

O evento foi realizado no Instituto Geogr\u00e1fico Agust\u00edn Codazzi (IGAC) e teve como objetivo discutir metodologias para o monitoramento de seca para a Am\u00e9rica Central e Caribe. Foi apresentada e discutida a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o das pr\u00e1ticas desenvolvidas pelo Departamento de Engenharia Rural (Projeto GAP 028692 – MONITORAMENTO DE ESTIAGEM NA REGI\u00c3O SUL DO BRASIL UTILIZANDO DADOS EVI\/MODIS) e a sua adequa\u00e7\u00e3o para ser usada para toda Am\u00e9rica Central.<\/span><\/p>\n
