The problem underlying the clean energy transition, whereby fossil inputs are replaced by renewable ones, has been, and will keep on being, of concern to the whole world for the upcoming decades. Still, although the answers to this question rely on essentially economic choices, undergraduate and postgraduate course syllabuses in Economics address them only marginally, at best. Therefore, neither scholars nor students are stirred to think, with the due depth, about the reason why many existing technological solutions fail to be put into practice. Hardly any grounds in energy economics are taken forward, in which, notwithstanding, market and policy structures and strategies rest upon and determine not only the harnessing and management of natural resources, but also the speed and scale of energy transition. Hence, the 1st International Seminar on Economics and Renewable Energy allows for shedding a brighter light and critical thinking upon the role of economics in the process of substituting renewable energy sources for fossil ones, in addition to highlighting how teaching and research activities in the (undergraduate and postgraduate) courses of Economics at the UFSM can strategically get included in an international, bolder and hegemonic scientific arena.<\/strong><\/p>\n

O problema da transi\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica limpa, por meio da substitui\u00e7\u00e3o de insumos f\u00f3sseis por outros, renov\u00e1veis, inquieta, e continuar\u00e1 inquietando, o mundo inteiro pelas pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas. Apesar disso, embora as respostas para esse problema remetam a escolhas essencialmente econ\u00f4micas, os curr\u00edculos de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Economia, na melhor das hip\u00f3teses, contemplam-no apenas marginalmente. Por conseguinte, nem docentes nem discentes s\u00e3o levados a refletir com a devida profundidade sobre a raz\u00e3o pela qual muitas solu\u00e7\u00f5es tecnol\u00f3gicas j\u00e1 existentes n\u00e3o s\u00e3o implementadas. Pouco se exploram os fundamentos da\u00a0Economia da Energia<\/em>, na qual repousam estruturas e estrat\u00e9gias de mercado e de pol\u00edtica econ\u00f4mica que determinam tanto o aproveitamento e a gest\u00e3o dos recursos naturais quanto o ritmo e a extens\u00e3o da transi\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica. Nesse sentido, o I Semin\u00e1rio Internacional de Economia e Energias Renov\u00e1veis constitui uma oportunidade de n\u00e3o s\u00f3 lan\u00e7ar mais luz e reflex\u00e3o sobre o papel da Ci\u00eancia Econ\u00f4mica no processo de substitui\u00e7\u00e3o de fontes f\u00f3sseis por renov\u00e1veis de energia, mas tamb\u00e9m de assinalar como as atividades de ensino e pesquisa do departamento e cursos (gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o) de Economia da UFSM podem inserir-se estrategicamente num contexto cient\u00edfico internacional, mais din\u00e2mico e hegem\u00f4nico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","evento_programacao":"
