Description

The VI Seminar on Catchment Monitoring and Assessment of the Southern Cone and the V Forum of Geo-Bio-Hydrology provide a platform for scientific integration and international cooperation, bringing together researchers, students, professionals, and institutions dedicated to catchment monitoring, modeling, and environmental assessment.

The event promotes the exchange of knowledge, the presentation of scientific advances, and discussions on innovative methodologies for understanding hydrological and environmental processes. It also contributes to soil and water conservation, climate change adaptation, and the sustainable management of natural resources.

Mission

To foster scientific collaboration, innovation, and international cooperation in advancing the understanding of hydrological and environmental processes while promoting sustainable soil and water management.

Objectives

• Integrate research groups that use the catchment as the fundamental unit of study.
• Share monitoring and modeling strategies to improve understanding of hydrological dynamics and associated environmental processes.
• Strengthen cooperation among universities, research institutes, and society.
• Foster the integration of knowledge in hydrology, soil science, sedimentology, geomorphology, and ecology for sustainable soil and water management.
• Disseminate environmental monitoring techniques and hydro-sedimentological modeling approaches.
• Promote the exchange of experiences in soil and water conservation and climate change adaptation.
• Discuss land use and management, sediment tracing and fingerprinting, hydro-sedimentology, and scale effects in catchment processes.
• Encourage the development of research networks and innovative solutions for the conservation of natural resources.

Scientific Topics

1. Sediment tracing and fingerprinting techniques
2. Hydro-sedimentology
3. Scale effects in catchment processes
4. Environmental monitoring
5. Impacts of land use and management on hydrological processes
6. Sediment yield modeling
7. Water quality
8. Extreme hydrological events
9. Integration of physical, biological, and geomorphological processes

If your research group, laboratory, research network, project, or institution intends to participate, we kindly ask that you indicate in the pre-registration form the estimated number of participants, even if this estimate is still preliminary. This information will be essential for planning lecture halls, meeting rooms, transportation, accommodation, and field activities, some of which will have limited capacity due to logistical constraints.

We sincerely appreciate your collaboration and kindly ask that you share this invitation with colleagues, students, technical staff, research groups, laboratories, and institutions that may be interested in participating in the event.
